This sweet curly haired beaut has just been promoted to Big Sis! I have had the pleasure of watching her grow for the last 2 years. She, along with her sweet parents brought in her little baby brother for his milestone portrait recently and did we ever have an amazing session.
For those of you who have yet to experience what an event, newborn, baby & or maternity session is like in and out of studio I’d like to share with you a little about how things flow. PKP takes great pride in making you feel your best and excited to capture your most precious moments for you. You know..the ones that just HAVE to be documented professionally. The moments that matter to YOU and coincidentally to me too!
Meet Immaneul. He was 12 days new when we did his newborn portraits. Big sister, as you can tell is smitten with him.
As with any session, our goal is to make sure that you are comfortable, excited and well informed. When all these three details come together everything else flows naturally. When working with me you’ll know that I am relatively soft spoken. Gentle guidance is given but most of these amazing memorable moments come from you. I just love having the honour to document them for you. So come with an open mind, a calm heart and place your trust in me…knowing that I have something beautiful in store for you!

A Floral maternity photography session is something that is like no other….

A little over 2 years apart but oh my goodness I can’t get over how much alike some siblings are. I have had the absolute pleasure and honour of working with this beautiful mama and her sweet family for the last few years and was so excited when she told me she was expecting baby #2.
Fast forward to last month and as soon as I saw her second daughter I literally said…WOW! Now I know I have touched base on this subject recently but it’s SOOO cool watching my families grow and come back to visit.
Introducing Evelyn…
This sweet little one held on till the last 15 minutes of her session. Cluster feeding, cuddles and curious. All completely normal during a newborn session and as always we go with the flow. However when her eyes were too heavy to stay open we were sure to capture her for mom and dad and big sister too.

The blessing of Motherhood is something that not all of us get to experience. But that all of us deserve. Some may not wish to be a mother when others are wishing so hard to be one. It may be a touchy subject for some of you but trust me when we say that this post comes with nothing more than love and happiness for each and every one of you.
We welcomed this beautiful excited mom to be into the studio recently. Holy smokes guys…we are so very lucky to work with such amazing beautiful moms to be lately. Not to mention our mamas don’t even realize half the time that they nail their looks and interaction with the camera 100%. I hear so often…I don’t like having my picture taken, or I feel so awkward.
Well mama…I am here to help you. This is part of my job, your experience while in studio is so important to me that I make a point to really get to know you before, during and after our shoot. Tell me what your concerns are, what you love, dislike, wants and hopes are when it comes to your maternity session. Why?…Because I truly believe that the connection and relationships we build in life are ones that should come from the heart. So no matter how we met or what you are doing now means a lot to me to be welcomed into “your” family and life. I really cherish the friendships I have been blessed to have made so far on this journey together.

Shhh..he’s listening for his little sister in there… I know…all the feels.
Meet Nolan…this gorgeous little guy came into the studio with his beautiful mom and dad for some maternity portraits and oh my goodness did we ever have fun. This beautiful young couple are expecting a baby girl on the way and are sooo excited!
Maternity sessions with families in studio are always fun filled, sweet and unposed. We go with the flow most days. Interacting with toddlers once they are comfortable gives them time to trust you and to know that despite being somewhere new…its fun for them as well as for mom and dad. As you can see here…Nolan had a great time too.
Wishing you a happy and healthy remainder of your pregnancy mama. You have an adorable little family and I can’t wait to hear when she arrives.

Motherhood…
Seldom do we associate motherhood with all things beauty for ourselves. It is so easy to get caught up and feel overwhelmed with things to do, places to be present for our own wants and needs. When you are expecting a baby you begin to understand this more than ever. Life is busy. We get it.
However….pausing that life button to take time out for yourself is ever more important these days. To recognize that you deserve it too and this is exactly what this gorgeous mama did recently. In fact…she brought her adorable new hubby in too to join in on the fun.
Meet Erin and Mark. This sweet young couple are brides of Aspen Florist and when they found out they were expecting their first child Erin knew that she wanted to work with us. We are beyond grateful and thrilled for them and these stunning memories we created together. Take a look for yourself…they rocked it right?
We had the BEST time in studio creating these memories for mom and dad to be and we can NOT wait to hear the news of their little baby very soon. Erin..Mark…thank you for choosing Petra King Photography and Aspen Florist for allowing us to document this milestone for you.
