There is something so magical about welcoming a brand-new baby into the studio. It’s like time stands still and for the duration of our session, I am transported back to when I had my own children (now young adults). Recently, I had the joy of meeting sweet baby Noah, who came in with his loving parents all the way from Markham to my Durham Region photography studio. From the moment they walked in, it was clear how adored this little one is, and it was such a privilege to capture these early days for their family.
Baby Noah was an absolute dream during his session. He curled right into the soft wraps and blankets, showing off those tiny toes and delicate little features. These newborn details change so quickly in the first few weeks, which is why I believe newborn photography near Markham and throughout the Durham Region is such a gift—it freezes these fleeting moments before they pass.
Although most of the focus was on Noah, I always encourage parents to step in for a photograph or two. So often, these early days are a blur of sleepless nights, feeding schedules, and adjusting to a brand-new rhythm. Having one photo that shows the love and connection between parents and baby can mean the world later on.
One of my favorite moments from Noah’s session was when Dad gently held his tiny feet, while Mom extended her hand. Instinctively, Noah wrapped his little fingers around her pinky. It was such a tender, unscripted gesture—one that beautifully captured the intimacy of those early days of parenthood.
Noah’s parents made the trip from Markham to Oshawa, and I often hear from families who are willing to travel a little further for timeless, natural newborn portraits. My studio is designed to be a calm and welcoming space, where parents can relax while their baby is gently photographed.
