New Beginnings: 2017

We are more than half way through January. A new year brings a lot to our plates. A fresh start, new outlook on life both personal and in business and time to reflect on what your goals are for the upcoming year. How has your January been treating you? Did you start it off with a bang? Or are you more the type to take things as they come? Me you ask? I am a planner. Borderline OCD at times lol! Those that know me know I am a perfectionist at heart. Speaking of heart...this is why I do what I do. I lead with my heart and know that all I do, is because I am a strong believer of putting others first. Building that trust, taking the time to get to know you and your wants and needs and this resonates in WHY I do what I do.

The clarity, confidence and passion I have for my business will be shared with you. So if I am lucky enough to photograph you or your family, know that I will evoke emotion during the session and after through lifelong heirloom photography.

The session below was such an amazing calm, beautiful newborn session that we made grandma cry! :) All good of course annnd you can bet that I gave her a hug as I passed her some tissues ;)

Meet Savannah at 9 days old. 8lbs of adorable curious sweetness. This baby girl is so loved already and I can't wait to watch her grow. Thanks to mama and grandma for loving her newborn experience and gushing over all the details throughout her time in studio. Shannon, enjoy. You are a natural new mom and simply radiant. Remember to be kind to yourself and embrace all the new "firsts"days ahead!

What makes you happy? A smile? A hug or kiss? The way someone makes you feel? Whatever it is don't let it go unnoticed. Life is too busy these days but there are moments in time, pages in a book or beautiful photographs that really speak to our soul. Soul mates that get you...no matter wherever you are in your life. Tell them how you feel. Connections are so important for me. It's equally important to get to know my clients. So that no matter what they hired me for, I want them to forget about being in front of the camera and prompt them to be in the moment. Or to relive moments together (new birth, baby clapping or expecting a new arrival) all on their own while I am quietly capturing milliseconds of their life.

Thank you all for your kind words. It's WHY I do what I do. I don't do it to be in the spotlight, but rather to know that I have made someone happy. Hello everyone! So...how was your Christmas holidays? Exhausting but good? Yep...me too. I am looking forward to getting back into a routine. Okay...who am I kidding I have already started for myself anyhow. Don't get me wrong. I LOVE Christmas but this year was especially busy. New home (we moved back in October) and as always lots of entertaining and way too much food. During this time though it's allowed me to focus and dive into some new projects for 2017. It's also pushed me to do some soul searching. To get back to my WHY. But that's a whole other blog post all on it's own. :)

Today's post is about social media. We are all on it (to some degree) and it's everywhere. The ease of finding information at your fingertips is so important.
