Outdoor Oshawa Maternity Photography

This past summer we had some amazing hot weather.  It was during this time that a client of mine wanted to have an outdoor maternity session with her family.  We were very excited for this day as it's always amazing to meet your clients whole family after months of planning and consulting.  For those local, remember those scorcher days of humidity and heat alerts? Yep...she was a trooper lol. Actually they all were but kudos to mama for keeping cool calm and collective. We had a lot of fun and for this sweet blended family to welcome a new baby girl into their dynamics it's pretty awesome!

A new chapter is about to begin and these two are so excited to jump right in!

Baby Holden: Oshawa Newborn Photographer

Meet Baby Holden!  He was another gorgeous baby boy to grace the studio recently for his newborn session with his excited new parents. With the best baby hair style this little sweet old soul was a pro through his session.  You hear me say time and time again that every newborn session is different. This was exactly the case with Holden's shoot.  I love welcoming first time parents into the studio, making them feel comfortable. Getting to know you as I work through the session. Enjoying every single moment and reassuring mom and dad (who are often exhausted) that they are doing a great job and the challenges they are facing are often very normal. Most importantly..they aren't alone.

Such was just the case with this beautiful young family.  So much so, that during my gentle guidance and reassurance, mom and dad had a flood of emotions take over.  Let me tell you it was so heart warming to see!  Pure love and emotion at it's finest. Yes new parents are exhausted but when they finally pause, and take a step back to see what they have created it's pretty awesome to see their natural reactions. Hormones and all lol. Even more so when it hit's new dad's!!

Model Call LSK: Oshawa Child Photographer

So last month I had the opportunity to work with a totally cool, rad and local small business.  Meet LSK ( Love Squared Kids). This busy mama of 2 creates hats for any age that are stylish, practical and an amazing quality all handmade.  You may have seen her at some local markets and pop ups all over Durham Region and the GTA.  We placed a call out for a few models needed for a Brand Rep shoot.  The response BLEW our minds. We had close to 140 entries. Talk about totally flattered and feeling the love!  Thank you to everyone who reached out, sent us photos of your beautiful children. Needless to say it was a TOUGH decision!  If we had time ya'll would have kept us working for weeks lol!!!   Below are those that joined us for both rounds of our shoot.  This was round one of our Model Call. These kids killed it and were sooooo natural it was unreal.  Tude, giggles, swag, stylin and just being themselves. It's what it's all about.

I just love photographing children. Not only do they challenge you as an artist, but the interaction and personality you build with them pushes you to really capture their true spirits.  Telling their story through the emotions and feelings they omit. While styling these uber cool beanies and hats flawlessly.

Santa Mini Sessions are here!  These sessions are perfect for small children.  The studio will be decorated Petra King Photography style with the creative works of Aspen Florist and myself.  Santa will be seated in a chair or standing.  While we do try to capture some interaction with the camera, these sessions are designed so the connection between Santa and your child's magic is documented.  Studio toys will be available but you are encouraged to bring along a Christmas book and of course a wish list.

Please note that these sessions are limited to 2 participants due to space and time restrictions.  Should you wish to have more than 2 people photographed, or be photographed with cousins and friends, please make sure to book back to back sessions.
