Recently, I had the joy of meeting sweet baby Noah, who came in with his loving parents all the way from Markham to my Durham Region photography studio. From the moment they walked in, it was clear how adored this little one is, and it was such a privilege to capture these early days for their family.

Baby Noah was an absolute dream during his session. He curled right into the soft wraps and blankets, showing off those tiny toes and delicate little features. Golden Hour Magic- A Family Beach Session in Durham Region

There’s something timeless about a beach session at golden hour. The soft glow of the setting sun, the sound of gentle waves, and the joy of families simply being together — it’s the perfect backdrop for creating memories.

This session was extra special because it was with a returning family I’ve had the privilege of photographing before. Seeing families come back year after year is one of the greatest joys of my work, and this time, I got to capture not only their adventurous 5-year-old, but also their sweet 6-month-old baby boy.

Photographing siblings is always so much fun. Their bond is unique — full of laughter, curiosity, and those tender little gestures that melt your heart.

Xavier was full of energy and adventure, exploring the shoreline and throwing rocks with carefree joy. His baby brother Ronin just 6 months old, brought a different kind of magic — wide-eyed wonder, sweet giggles, and snuggles in his parents’ arms.

Berry Sweet Milestone: Camryn’s First Birthday Cake Smash with Peonies & Strawberries

There’s something magical about a first birthday. It’s a year of first giggles, first steps, and countless sweet moments — and when it’s celebrated with peonies, strawberries, and cake, it becomes truly unforgettable. Camryn’s berry first birthday session in my Oshawa photography studio was as joyful and colorful as she is. From the lush pink peonies provided by Aspen Florist were to the perfectly styled with a decedent strawberry-topped cake from Nest Specialty Desserts and Watson’s Farms. Every detail was crafted to capture the love and personality shining through this milestone moment.

The Setup & Styling

For Camryn’s celebration, we went with a light and airy look accented with pops of pink and berry tones.

A cascade of stunning pink peonies framed the setup, adding a timeless floral touch. The focal point? A custom white cake topped with fresh strawberries and little pink blooms — perfect for our berry-themed cake smash. The entire scene was bathed in the most beautiful soft natural light streaming into the studio, giving each image a dreamy, whimsical feel.

The Birthday Girl

Camryn arrived in the sweetest romper and got right into those juicy berries. A quick outfit change after some classic pictures, she was then decked out in a delicate lace dress, looking every bit the star of the day. Her expressions were priceless — and that smile never faded after her cake was pn the ground. She was curious, playful, and oh-so-determined to get a handful of more berries. One of my favorite moments? When she paused to play peek a boo with me over her cake lol. Too sweet.
